ONE OF THE TRUE BPO & TECH PARTNERS WE’VE EVER HAD IS SELECTSYS

Problem:
The core business of Appalachian is underwriting, but it lacked automation and was wasting its prime resources in non-core processes like
NCCI Reporting: Workers Compensation insurance policies are required to report in many states. Policy information should be keyed in to the NCCI website.
New Business Submissions: This requires the data received via fax or email attachments to be entered into insurance applications.
Endorsements, Cancellations, and Reinstatements, Audits: The internal system is updated with changes being made to the policy and changes are communicated via email to the agent.
Renewals, binds and issuance: This involves pre-quoting on the carrier’s internet site and getting the file ready for the Underwriter to review before sending out the renewal quote. Binding the policy after receiving the confirmation to bind and then issue the policy.
Loss Run Requests: Appalachian Underwriters obtains the necessary loss runs from the carrier and forwards the information back to the requesting agent.
Solution:
Appalachian turned to Selectsys to manage these business processes. Selectsys carried out the task by preparing a thorough document of each business responsibility and assigned each task to Appalachian’s remote staff in an orderly manner. This change resulted in a 75% cost savings over the total cost burden. Selectsys worked with Appalachian to reengineer each process to improve the quality by 43%.There was also 17% improvement of productivity (as measured by the number of processes completed in a 40 hour period).
