Team MeetingSTEP 1: Get the buy-in of your staff. Introduce BPO as an extension of your office in India, which it is. Your staff should view this as a support solution. Refer to BPO by the name of its specific location (i.e. Hyderabad office, Bangalore office, or India office as opposed to outsourcing vendor or BPO) this helps build confidence and a sense of security in the U.S. office.

STEP 2: Start with the least critical/technical department (ex. Billing). Once you feel comfortable with this process, you can implement BPO in other areas of the business. STEP 3: Communication is critical for the success of BPO. Business Owners/BPO champions on the state side (US) should be in sync with their counterpart in India; daily status meetings play an important role in this process. Displaying pictures of US and India staff in all office locations helps to promote a team attitude. Critical business process owners should travel to India to see the BPO operation firsthand; this will help to further build trust and gain a better understanding of the local culture and working environment.
